Tatarstan Prime minister made report at Federal labour and employment service collegium

Rustam Minnikhanov informed at a session of Federal labour and employment service collegium that Tatarstan is considering the possibility to send applications to Russian government for additional financial support to retrain the unemployed. The collegium was devoted to the work of department in 2008 and discussion of tasks 2009.

RF Minister of health care and social development Tatyana Golikova, Chief of Federal labour and employment service Yury Gertsy, representatives of executive bodies from Russian regions took part in the collegium.

Rustam Minnikhanov, in particular, pointed out that currently there are 236 applications from republican enterprises for retraining the unemployed almost 12 000 people of 490 professions. Meanwhile, the provided funds allow retraining only 6,5 000 people.

Head of Tatarstan government stressed that measures taken by Russian government on stabilization of situation in labour market are rather timely and adequate. “It is the first real anti-crisis program, from which the citizens – “end” consumers, have already received the funds”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said. Tatarstan has received more than 40 mln. roubles from federal budget.

Unemployment is one of the urgent problems in regions. The number of the unemployed exceeds 49,2 thousand people in Tatarstan. The unemployment level in republic is 2,5 %. RT Prime Minister reported on measures taken in republic for stabilization of the current situation. Thus, the Republican commission on ensuring of economic development under crisis conditions was founded in Tatarstan. It is headed by RT President M.Sh.Shaimiev. Operational problems of the economy stabilization and labour market are being solved at the sessions of Economic council under Tatarstan government. The work with debtors on salary payment is carried out by Republican interdepartmental commission on living standards improvement and income legalization which has branches in all municipal units.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized separately the problem of employment of school leavers and graduate students and 12 000 citizens doing military service. Summing up, he mentioned one more problem characteristic for other Russian regions – the role of State labour inspection on citizens’ rights protection. The proposal to enlarge the staff by 21 persons was sent to the Chairman of Russian government.
