Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov congratulates citizens on Cosmonautics Day
12 April 2014, Saturday
“Dear citizens of Tatarstan! On behalf of Tatarstan Government and personally I would like to congratulate you on Cosmonautics Day. People all over the world were amazed by the first human spaceflight that took place more than half a century ago. It was a breakthrough in the history of cosmonautics, and opened a new era in the history of civilization. That day our country became a leader in space exploration.
We should remember historical achievements in national cosmonautics for our future, to achieve success in education, for patriotic education, new inventions and fundamental research, scientific and technological progress, and security of our country.
Tatarstan leadership puts much emphasis on development of cosmonautics. Produce manufactured at regional enterprises is widely used in launcher rockets, and space stations. Realizing ideas of scientists and teachers to have the right place in international intellectual environment, the republic will continue increasing its scientific, educational and technological potential, including aerospace industry. The scientific educational complex “Planetarium” that was opened at Astronomical observatory named after V.P. Engelgardt in summer 2013 will make contribution to preservation of national space heritage.
Cosmonautics Day is the main holiday for those, who helped rapid development of the space industry due to their talent. Astronauts are the bravest people among other professions. We are delighted at their courage, power and intellect, and wish them success in exploration of the limitless ocean called Space!
Tatarstan Prime Minister, Ildar Khalikov.”
