Rustam Minnikhanov: OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” is one of the biggest tax payers in republic

On April 14 at an annual shareholders meeting of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that oil processing and petrochemistry are growing points of Tatarstan economy. He also noted that OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” is the biggest polystyrene producers in the world.
For 12 years we have been launching new large-scale production, and today we also took part in solemn launching of the 4th stage of polystyrene production at OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded.
Tatarstan President continued that a powerful petrochemical cluster was created under the auspices of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”. “We are speaking about increasing production two or three times, and building new complex for manufacturing 1 million tonnes of produce,” he said.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the company is the biggest producer of ethylene and rubber. “We have got industrial and intellectual potential to deal with the most complicated tasks,” he added.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that the republic has to achieve new economic growth rates of 5-6 per cent.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the biggest tax payers in republic, and in spite of difficult economic situation net profit in 2013 amounted to 6.1 billion roubles. He also reminded about production modernization as one of priority tasks to decrease environmental load.

On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
