On April 14 upon his arrival in China, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Urumqi, the administrative centre of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Business itinerary of the visit will start tomorrow from Urumchi innovative and economic development zone, where Rustam Minnikhanov will present economic potential of the Republic of Tatarstan to businessmen of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Rustam Minnikhanov will also meet with Zhang Chunxian, a member of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China, Secretary of the party committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, sign several agreements on cooperation, visit main Urumchi enterprises, and meet with members of Tatar community of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
On April 16 Tatarstan delegation will head for Beijing.

On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
