Tatarstan investment and economic potential presented in Urumqi

On April 15 during the working trip of Tatarstan delegation to China, Tatarstan investment and economic potential was presented in Urumqi with participation of heads of leading Tatarstan enterprises, ministries and agencies. About 170 representatives of Chinese companies visited the presentation.
Opening the presentation, Deputy Chairman of people's government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Shi Dagan welcomed members of Tatarstan delegation and reminded that businessmen of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are going to visit Tatarstan in July. He also wished Tatarstan delegation success during the present visit.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed participants of the presentation and thanked them for attention given to republic. He stressed that Tatarstan leadership appreciates the opportunity to develop cooperation within the framework of relationships between Russia and China. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that cooperation between Tatarstan and China is developing, the republic cooperates with a number of Chinese provinces, and is planning to open representative office in Beijing.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that Chinese corporation CNCEC takes part in implementation of the project “Ammony”, Chinese builders work at construction sites, and direct flights are to be launched between Kazan and Urumqi, and transport corridor Europe-Western China will go through Tatarstan and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Members of Tatar diaspora living in Urumchi also help developing trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Tatarstan President said.
“We are actively developing international cooperation and willing to expand cooperation with Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Looking forward to seeing you in Kazan,” he added.
Tatarstan Vice-Premier, Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov, who took part in the event, told about investment opportunities in agricultural sector.
Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov focused on economic development of the republic and opportunities offered for investors, pointing out a developed product market, low bureaucratic barriers, direct dialogue between investors and government, tax preferences and highly skilled staff.
Director General of OAO SEZ “Innopolis” Igor Nosov, in his turn, told about IT city being created in the republic.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
