Tatarstan President holds meetings at Russian Embassy in Beijing

On April 16 during his visit to China, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held several business meetings at Russian Embassy in Beijing.
Vice-President of Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry for import and export of mechanical and technical produce Si Jonghong, who signed agreement on cooperation with Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, suggested organizing the visit of Chinese businessmen to Tatarstan to learn more about opportunities and investment climate. Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, offered to work on prospective areas of cooperation in accordance with the signed agreement.
Funding of projects of Chinese companies in Tatarstan by Chinese loan organizations was discussed at the meeting with Director of Corporate Business of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Mo Fumin. The parties agreed on creating a working group to search for perspective projects in Tatarstan.
Executives of China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation (CASIC) offered building a plant to produce liquefied natural gas at the premises of Minnibayevo Gas Processing Plant. Liquefied natural gas can be used as automotive fuel.
Rustam Minnikhanov asked Director General of OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin to discuss the project with CASIC executives.
At his meeting with executives of South-China Railway Corporation Rustam Minnikhanov discussed company’s participation in construction of high-speed railway line “Moscow-Kazan”.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
