Tatarstan President meets with Financial Secretary of Hong Kong John Tsang

On April 17, during his two-day working visit to Hong Kong (April 16-17) Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Financial Secretary of Hong Kong John Tsang. The parties exchanged their opinions on economic and investment opportunities available in Hong Kong and Tatarstan.
In particular, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the main purpose of his visit is to broaden cooperation between Tatarstan and Hong Kong in such areas as trade, economy, science, education and culture.
“We have large opportunities for cooperation. Unfortunately, we don’t make good use of them,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, noting that Tatarstan could be a starting point for Hong Kong investors to enter the Russian market.
To the point, John Tsang is responsible for developing Hong-Kong-Russian relations. We count on your support in establishing stronger ties, Rustam Minnikhanov said addressing Financial Secretary of Hong Kong.
At the end of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov invited John Tsang to visit Kazan.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
