Director General of “Rosnano” Anatoly Chubais: “a foothold for implementation of projects in the sphere of nanotechnologies should be created in Tatarstan”

A joint session of Republican interdepartmental commission on interaction with federal state power bodies of Russian Federation on implementation of Tatarstan projects and programs and Coordination Council on implementation of Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of nanotechnologies and nanoindustry development between State corporation "Russian corporation of nanotechnologies" and Tatarstan on use of nanotechnologies in petrochemistry has been held in Kazan chaired by RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov.

“If we really want to develop a strategy of country and region, if we are not going to be dependent on oil and gas in our progressing, Russian strategy may be expressed in 2 words: “innovation economy.” - Director General of State corporation "Russian corporation of nanotechnologies" (“Rosnano”) Anatoly Chubais said at the session.
“Our serious team of specialists has arrived in Kazan and cooperation with Tatarstan showed that a foothold for implementation of projects in the sphere of nanotechnologies should be created here”, - he said. Nanotechnologies are the symbol of innovative economy for the whole world and those countries which take it seriously pay a special attention to its development and introduction. It is a priority field, in fact.

Director of “Rosnano” considers that currently it is important to define how l we are going enter a post-crisis economy and nanotechnologies may have a definite competitive advantages. “Either we do it by ourselves, or go to importing”, - Anatoly Chubais said.

Anatoly Chubais is sure that Tatarstan has all conditions to become a foothold in this issue – that is scientific, academic and economic potential. He also underlined that Republican leadership deeply understands the problems and importance of introduction of nanotechnologies in all production areas. He reminded that petrochemical and aircraft clusters are functioning in Tatarstan. Tatarstan is one of the leaders by number of applications for “Rosnano”.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that republic is aimed at further thorough work with “Rosnano”.
