On April 25 First Deputy of Russian Government Igor Shuvalov and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited enterprises of resident companies of SEZ “Alabuga”.
Rockwool enterprise producing rock wool thermal insulation materials was the first enterprise. Launched in 2012, the plant has the most powerful rock wool production line in the world with output capacity of 110, 000 tonnes per year. The amount of investments in the project made 150 million dollars.
Igor Shuvalov saw the production line and was told about technologies. Company representatives told that rock wool is a very ecofriendly material and is fire-resistant.
Tatarstan President said that Rockwool thermal insulation materials have shown itself to good advantage in regional construction industry.
Igor Shuvalov also visited Sisecam plant producing sheet glass that is currently at the final construction stage. Samples of glass that will be produced at the enterprise were shown to Russian Vice-Premier.
During the visit to Kastamony Entegre plant, its Director General Onur Guven told Igor Shuvalov that the first construction stage will be finished in May 2014. The production capacities are expected to make 475, 000 cubic metres of MDF panels and 20 million square metres of laminated plastic per year.
The last enterprise to visit was Ford Sollers plant. New models that will be produced at Tatarstan plants were shown to Igor Shuvalov. He highly estimated consumer performance of Ford cars, especially Ecosport model that will be produced in Tatarstan from August 2014.
According to Ford Sollers Director Ted Cannis, the American concern is willing to work in Russia, and company has already invested 1.6 billion dollars in Russia.
Later on the same day, Igor Shuvalov held a field session of Executive committee of the Advisory Council on foreign investments at SEZ “Alabuga”.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
