Dmitry Rogozin: “The issue of establishing European production practices is especially urgent in Russia”

On April 25, at a field meeting of Military-industrial commission under the Government of the Russian Federation held by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin at IT Park in Naberezhnye Chelny, results of two-day conference on implementation of lean production at organisations of defense industry complex and antimonopoly requirements in the sphere of state defense orders were summed up.
Opening the meeting, Dmitry Rogozin noted that the issue of establishing European production practices is especially urgent in Russia. He said that the defense complex should solve a problem of rearmament, with the share of new weapons in the Russian Armed Forces to make 70 per cent by 2020. At the same time, Dmitry Rogozin emphasized that the country’s industrialization is one of the key tasks of the Russian Government, adding that these problems should be dealt with using lean production technologies.
A long-term target programme on introducing lean production techniques has been implemented in Tatarstan under the auspices of the regional leadership. The total economic impact of introducing lean technologies made 6 billion roubles last year. The lean production principles have been introduced at OAO “KAMAZ” since 2006. The enterprises of different levels in Naberezhnye Chelny are also applying kaizen techniques to improve their performance and reduce losses. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov said that 163 enterprises and organisations of various sectors of the economy and social sphere have been involved in the work on introducing lean technologies in Tatarstan. More than 5,000 employees have been trained under the programme of training to apply lean production tools over the last four years.
Director General of Rostech State Corporation Sergey Chemezov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, heads of entities of the Volga federal district and directors of enterprises of defense industry complex took part in the meeting.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
