World Bank cooperates with Tatarstan in defining efficiency of funds aimed for social care

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with specialists from the World Bank.

RT minister of economy Marat Safiullin, state counselor under RT President on social issues Tatyana Larionova, chairman of state council committee on budget, taxes and finances Murad Gadylshin, the World Bank social policy sector chief in the region “Europe-Central Asia” Katty Lindert, analyst of social programs department of World Bank Ivan Shulga took part in the event.

Tatarstan is going to continue cooperating with the World Bank in the field of analytical work for examining poverty and living standards in the republic. A special attention will be paid to making state social care programs for the most vulnerable population groups more targeted.

Earlier, on March 5, the specialists from the World Bank presented preliminary results of Tatarstan population study for monitoring level and life quality to the Tatarstan PM.

Chief of social programs of the World Bank in Russia Andrey Markov offered Rustam Minnikhanov to intensify researches in the sphere of social policy in order to understand efficiency of funds spent for support of socially vulnerable population groups (both federal and republican funds).

Specialists from the World Bank consider that the problem is urgent especially during the world economic crisis when budget funds are being spent economically. It is really important so that all funds allocated by the state would be received by those who need them.

Within 3 weeks the World Bank specialists are going to determine a work schedule and present it to RT government for consideration and approval.
