Interregional forum on modernization of housing and utility sector held in Kazan

On April 29, the I Interregional Forum "Tasks on modernization of housing and utility sector: regional practices and initiatives of Tatarstan" is being held in Kazan. Heads of housing and utility enterprises from different Russian regions, representatives of Russian Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utility Reform Foundation, Tatarstan Government, members of the Russian State Duma and Tatarstan State Council are taking part in the event. The forum aims at establishing professional dialogue and strengthening relations between participants of the housing and utility market.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a plenary session.
“At present, the housing and utility sector is a high technology infrastructure that needed serious preparation. IT and other technological innovations being implemented in the housing and utility sector require a completely different attitude from us. At the same time, the infrastructure is not in the best condition, there are a lot of problems with the staff and the management system is not quite effective,” Rustam Minnikhanov said in his speech.
Among tasks that needed a decision in the housing and utility sphere he pointed out the need to eliminate the gaps in the legislation, develop large-scale programmes like programmes of capital repair of houses. In particular, he said that the programme to modernize the infrastructure and arrange the water and heating supply system is needed. Tatarstan President believes that this work is being done in Tatarstan, but it requires a more systematic approach.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Director of the Fund “The Institute of Development of Tatarstan Cities” Nailya Nagumanova informed about preparation to the implementation of the Our Yard programme in the republic.
