Tatarstan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources reports on sanitary and ecological two-month campaign

On May 3, at a meeting at Tatarstan Government House held by Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Artem Sidorov reported on sanitary and ecological two-month campaign organized in Tatarstan regions and towns.

The regional Saturday clean-up event with participation of 480, 000 people, and regional campaign “Forest planting day” were held in Tatarstan on April 26. Much attention was paid to cleaning territories near railways. Many violations were revealed at garden societies and garden cooperatives.

Liquidation of unauthorized landfills was realized during the two-month campaign. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources also made two overflights to find out violations. However, some regions have not corrected violations yet.

Artem Sidorov addressed heads of regions with requirement to deal with the problem and liquidate unauthorized landfills around cemeteries.
