Tatarstan President meets with Leader of Iraqi Kurdistan

On May 3, during his visit to Iraq, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of Regional Government of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani.
Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov, Director General of OAO “Tatneft” Nail Maganov, Director General of OAO “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OAO “TAIF” Albert Shigabutdinov took part in the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Masoud Barzani for the warm reception rendered to members of Tatarstan delegation in Iraqi Kurdistan. Tatarstan President noted that Kurdistan and Tatarstan have a wide range of opportunities for cooperation. Heads of the largest regional enterprises are on the delegation to discuss prospects for cooperation.
R. Minnikhanov told Masoud Barzani about Tatarstan and projects that have been discussed earlier during his meeting with Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan.
Masoud Barzani welcomed Rustam Minnikhanov and members of the delegation. He confirmed that the leadership of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region is interested in implementing joint projects with Tatarstan companies and stated about the readiness to support these projects.
“I am sure that your visit will contribute to the development of relations between Kurdistan and Tatarstan,” Masoud Barzani addressed Rustam Minnikhanov at the end of the meeting.

On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.

On 29 December, speaking at a briefing held in Tatarstan Government House on issues of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of road services and housing and communal services during the holidays, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin said that during the holidays special attention will be given to providing heat supply to apartment buildings.

On 24 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a charity action “The Christmas Tree of Wishes” held during the 17th session of the State Council of the republic of the seventh convocation.
The Head of the Government of the republic will fulfill wishes of five-year old Landysh who dreams of a guitar, 13-year old Zariva who will get a smart speaker, eight-year old Leyla dreaming of a bike and 16-year old Evelina who will be given an e-book.
