Turkmenistan interested in establishing textile production facilities in SEZ “Alabuga”

On May 6, at a briefing held at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov said that Turkmenistan is interested in establishing textile processing and production facilities in SEZ “Alabuga”.
To the point, the briefing was dedicated to the results of the visit of Tatarstan delegation led by Rustam Minnikhanov to Turkmenistan at the end of April 2014.
According to Ravil Zaripov, at his meeting with members of Tatarstan delegation, Turkmenistan Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov made a corresponding proposal that was accepted by the Tatarstan side.
Ravil Zaripov also reminded that the meeting between Rustam Minnikhanov and Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, as well as business meetings with participation officials and representatives of enterprises of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan were held within the framework of the visit. In particular, the cooperation in power engineering and petrochemistry industries were discussed.
The Turkmen side was also interested in expanding cooperation with OAO “KAMAZ”, OAO “Tatneft”, OAO “Kazan Helicopter Plant”, OAO “Kazan Engineering Production Association” and OAO “Kazancompressormash”.
According to Ravil Zaripov, the possibility of setting up a Turkmenistan trading house in Kazan to promote Turkmen produce in Tatarstan was also touched upon during the visit. Moreover, Rustam Minnikhanov suggested establishing a Tatarstan-Turkmenistan working group on trade, economy, science, technology and cultural cooperation.
Ravil Zaripov reminded that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan amounted to $42.4 million in 2013.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
