Ildar Khalikov meets with President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball

On May 7, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met with President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball Jordi Bertomeu at Tatarstan Government House. Chairman of Tatarstan National Bank – President of UNICS Basketball Club Evgeny Bogache, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Khalil Shaikhutdinov took part in the meeting.
Jordi Bertomeu arrived in Kazan to personally attend the final match of the European Cup, the second most important European competition. The game between UNICS Kazan and Spanish Valencia will be held at Basket-hall in Kazan today. After the first match of the final series, which took place in Spain on May 1, UNICS is 13 points behind its opponents and Kazan basketball players should come from behind to win the tournament today.
Ildar Khalikov conveyed the greetings on behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Jordi Bertomeu and invited the honoured guest to visit the main sights and sports venues of Kazan.
“We hope that you will enjoy not only the game, but our city and its places of interest as well,” Ildar Khalikov said addressing Jordi Bertomeu.
Jordi Bertomeu, in his turn, thanked Ildar Khalikov and the regional leadership for warm reception in Kazan.
It is planned that Jordi Bertomeu will visit the Kazan Kremlin, Old Tatar settlement, as well as major sports venues of Kazan, such as the Aquatic Sports Palace, Arena Kazan Stadium, Gymnastics Center, Tennis Academy.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
