Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is willing to share experience gained during preparation and holding of Universiade with Kaliningrad region

On May 11, during his meeting with the Governor of Kaliningrad region Nikolay Tsukanov in Kaliningrad, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is willing to share experience gained during preparation and holding of international sports competitions with Kaliningrad region.
To the point, Rustam Minnikhanov is in Kaliningrad on a two-day working visit (May 11-12, 2014). Upon arrival, Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Nikolay Tsukanov laid flowers to the Memorial to 1200 guardsmen and the Eternal Flame in memory of soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Then, Rustam Minnikhanov and Nikolay Tsukanov held a meeting at the Governor’s office. In particular, Nikolay Tsukanov thanked Tatarstan President for finding time to visit Kaliningrad to discuss further steps of cooperation between two regions, Tatarstan and Kaliningrad.
The experience Tatarstan gained during the preparation and holding of the Universiade in Kazan 2013 will be useful to us during the preparation and holding of the World Football Cup 2018, Nikolay Tsukanov said. We will ask you for assistance in this issue, as well as in designing and constructing a stadium and other infrastructure facilities, he added. According to Nikolay Tsukanov, Tatarstan experience in the construction of road infrastructure, bridges, etc. is also interesting for Kaliningrad region. Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, expressed readiness to assist Kaliningrad region in a number of areas, including sports development, construction of sports and other infrastructure facilities.
Tatarstan President also noted that today it is important to strengthen such areas as trade, economic and cultural cooperation. According to him, intermediate results should be summed up and prospective areas of cooperation should be set during his visit to Kaliningrad region.
Later on the same day, an extended meeting of representatives of the Government of Kaliningrad region and Tatarstan delegation took place.

On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
On 3 January on the errand from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety of the republic , held an urgent meeting of the Commission which discussed readiness of forces and means to ensure security during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
On 29 December, speaking at a briefing held in Tatarstan Government House on issues of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of road services and housing and communal services during the holidays, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin said that during the holidays special attention will be given to providing heat supply to apartment buildings.
On 24 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a charity action “The Christmas Tree of Wishes” held during the 17th session of the State Council of the republic of the seventh convocation.
The Head of the Government of the republic will fulfill wishes of five-year old Landysh who dreams of a guitar, 13-year old Zariva who will get a smart speaker, eight-year old Leyla dreaming of a bike and 16-year old Evelina who will be given an e-book.
