Plan of actions on realization of Agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and Kaliningrad region signed

The Republic of Tatarstan and Kaliningrad region will cooperate in trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural spheres. Plan of actions on realization of Agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and Kaliningrad region was signed today in Kaliningrad after an extended meeting of Tatarstan delegation with representatives of Kaliningrad Government.
The document was signed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of Kaliningrad region Nikolay Tsukanov.
During the meeting the parties expressed an opinion that trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and Kaliningrad region are stable. The plan of actions is meant to expand cooperation.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the main task today is to expand business and economic contacts. He believes that preparation for the World Football Cup 2018 can be the first project.
Minister of Economy of Kaliningrad region Anastasiya Kuznetsova briefly told about economic situation in the region. In particular, she informed that there are 90 per cent of explored reserves of amber in the region. Kaliningrad has rich historical and cultural heritage, and is one of the oldest European cities.
According to Anastasiya Kuznetsova, main areas of development are industry, tourism, agricultural industry, IT sector. She presented opportunities of customs zone and special economic zone.
Presenting Tatarstan economic potential, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov pointed out petrochemistry, oil production, engineering industries.
The project of new stadium that is under construction was presented to members of Tatarstan delegation. One of main tasks today is integration of this territory in the urban environment.
Rustam Minnikhanov invited specialists from Kaliningrad region to Tatarstan to get familiar with construction of innovative satellite town “Innopolis”, and “Smart City Kazan”. He continued that Tatarstan design and construction organizations are ready to help the region with implementation of the project of new football stadium and other objects of urban infrastructure.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
