Rockwool company confirmed intentions to construct new plant in territory of “Alabuga”

RT Prime Minister R.N.Minnikhanov held meeting with president of “Rockwool” Elko Van Hill.

A solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone in construction of a new plant in the territory of a special economic zone “Alabuga” was held on June 4, 2008. Construction works and the first output (heat-insulating materials) will have finished by 2010. It is meant that Rockwool plant in “Alabuga” will be equipped with highly productive lines.

Mr Elko Van Hill informed about company intentions to continue working on the project even under world economic crisis conditions and launch production start for the time coinciding with rehabilitation of market. He also added that perspectives in relation to Russian economy are rather positive.

Mr Elko Van Hill highly appreciated the policy of Tatarstan government in developing business and expressed thanks RT Cabinet for supporting Rockwool company.

Director General of “Rockwool Russia” Nick Vince stressed that currently final engineering works and works on receiving all necessary documentation are being carried out. He also underlined the advantage of decreasing of prices for construction materials.

Aide to Prime Minister on foreign economic activity Iskander Mouflikhanov informed that during a meeting the representatives of Rockwool expressed interest in delivery of their goods for construction of objects for Universiade-2013 (sport facilities).
