13 May 2014, Tuesday

On May 13, during their visit to Kazan, Chairman of Crimean State Council Vladimir Konstantinov and First Vice-Premier of Crimea Rustam Temirgaliev visited Government House, State Council, Kazan Kremlin, IT park, Kazan-Arena stadium, Aquatics Palace, and 7th city hospital. The guests were accompanied by Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.

Answering journalists’ questions, Speaker of Crimean State Council Vladimir Konstantinov said he was impressed by Tatarstan achievements and implemented projects. He noted that cooperation between Tatarstan and Crimean State Councils was established.

Chairman of Crimean State Council thanked Tatarstan leadership for support from very first minutes of Ukrainian crisis. “The Republic of Tatarstan was the first to help us. The speech of Tatarstan President at Crimean Parliament had a major impact, and we passed out first Constitution in cooperation with members of Tatarstan Parliament,” he said.

Speaking about Crimean Tatars, Vladimir Konstantinov said that the relationships are not easy. “Majlis leaders had anti-Russia sentiments. It was financed by Ukrainian central administration, surely at the suggestion of the West. It is hard to break free from this burden. In this case Tatarstan support is very important for us. Here we can see respected people, who know a lot about inter-ethnic relations. They have positive, good experience in dealing with such problems. I think we can cope with everything. It is a question of time. These ideas come from the West. Their main purpose is to set us by the ears. We are wise enough to prevent it,” Speaker of Crimean State Council said.
