Rustam Minnikhaov makes overflight of fields in Yelabuga region

On May 14, during his working visit to Yelabuga municipal region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov made overflight of fields and met with heads of farms and rural settlements of the region.

During his meeting with villagers, Head of Yelabuga region Gennady Emelyanov reported that with 80 per cent of the sowing campaign being done, it is planned to finish it completely during the next week.

According to Marat Akhmetov, Yelabuga region is one of the regions that shows sustainable development.

He warned the villagers about unfavorable weather forecasts. According to Marat Akhmetov, weather conditions will be unfavorable in the second half of May and June. The minister called the villagers to complete the sowing campaign as quickly as possible and proceed to the agro-technical measures.

Marat Akhmetov advised heads of dairy farms that they should check their feed balances.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Yelaguba region succeeds in the agriculture unlike its neighboring Mendeleev region, which have problems in the agro-industrial complex.

"The situation here is different. But here also, the land should be made the best use of. You are situated near big cities, and this potential should be used," R.Minnikhanov said. He advised the villagers that they should work with the nearby large buyers, such as “Belaya dacha" and "Essen ". Some farms in the region have already established cooperation with these chains, he added.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted the successful implementation of regional programs in the region. According to him, Tatarstan leadership is planning to establish sites for small businesses in addition to a major SEZ. "It is important that people stay in the region and have work to do," R.Minnikhanov said.

Heads of rural settlements of the region thanked Tatarstan President for providing grants for settlements. Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, called the rural settlement for self-taxation, promising appropriate co-financing by the republic.
