Session of Board of rectors of Russian medical and pharmaceutical higher educational institutions held in Kazan

On May 14, a general meeting of the interregional public organisation "Board of Rectors of Russian medical and pharmaceutical higher educational institutions" was held at Kazan City Hall.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Airat Farrakhov, Aide to Tatarstan President on Social Issues Tatyana Larionova, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Director of Federal Medical-Biological Agency Vladimir Uiba, Rector of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Peter Glybochko, Rector of Kazan State Medical University Aleksey Sozinov and other officials took part in the event.
Welcoming participants, Ildar Khalikov, thanked them for holding this important forum in Kazan during the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Kazan State Medical University. "I am sure that results of the meeting will be effective," he said.
Making a keynote report at the meeting, Rector of Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Larisa Moshetova touched upon such issues as training of medical workers, quality of education, etc.
Speaking about the improvement of quality of education, Veronika Skvortsova noted: “All the speakers told about the importance of the target enrolment. Indeed, over the last one and a half year the target enrolment increased to 38.5 per cent of the total number of the state-funded places. In 2014, we reached 50 per cent." According to her, the efficiency of target enrolment has improved, reaching 86.4 per cent.
The Russian Minister of Health touched upon the issue of salaries of medical workers and social support measures in the regions. In particular, she noted that the Ministry together with regions is working on the issue of introducing a system of efficient contracts. Thus, the standard criteria of medical personnel performance were worked out and tested in a large number of pilot regions in 2013. "Now these criteria have been introduced in more than 4,500 medical organisations and more than 580,000 medical workers have signed efficient contracts, " Veronika Skvortsova said.
Veronika Skvortsova continued that today she got familiar with the work of Kazan State Medical University and fundamental medicine department of Kazan Federal University. She appreciated the production of simulation and training equipment, the the level of which, according to her, is above the international standards, adding that the equipment is now purchased by the leading universities from different countries.
The Minister reminded the overall mandatory accreditation of medical workers will start on January 1, 2016 and will be held in specially prepared centers at leading universities, research centers, and regional hospitals. "The centers we have seen today in Kazan are a prototype of those accreditation centers that we must establish during the remaining period," Veronika Skvortsova concluded.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
