Tatarstan President meets with delegation of the Club of Leaders of Agency for Strategic Initiatives

On May 16, issues to improve the investment climate in Russia and Tatarstan were discussed at a meeting of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with delegation of the Club of Leaders on promoting business initiatives of Agency for Strategic Initiatives at Tatarstan Government House.
Welcoming the delegation of businessmen, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked them for their visit to Kazan. “Improving the investment climate is our common task. If there is an appeal for the business, it will develop. And we should make decisions that will be comfortable for the business,” Tatarstan President said.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, businessmen should have authority in the society and support of the public authorities.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the regional leadership has been actively cooperating with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives under all programmes related to the improvement of the investment climate.
Among problems that hinder the development of business in Russia Tatarstan President pointed out plenty of regulatory bodies, often too strong requirements for businessmen. Rustam Minnikhanov is sure that the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, being the body chaired personally by Russian President, will successfully deal with these problems.
Chairman of the Club of Leaders Artem Avetisyan told Rustam Minnikhanov about the project “Test Purchases” that is being implemented by businessmen. The project presupposes “mystery” inspections of convenience and efficiency of the necessary control and registration procedures conducted by public authorities by entrepreneurs.
Reports on these "purchases" will be presented to the Russian President twice a year. Artem Avetisyan invited entrepreneurs from Tatarstan to participate in this project.
At the meeting, members of the delegation also suggested the regional leadership options for cooperation and initiatives to improve the investment attractiveness, invited representatives of Tatarstan to become members of various business delegations of the Club to study the experience of foreign countries to increase the investment attractiveness.
Rustam Minnikhanov supported initiatives and proposals and expressed his hope for their successful implementation.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
