WorldSkills Competitions Russia 2014 start in Kazan

On May 16, Russian Vice-Premier Olga Golodets and Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov attended a solemn opening ceremony of the Second National Championship WorldSkills Russia – 2014 at the International Information Center of the Universiade Village.
The Second National Championship WorldSkills Russia – 2014 will be held in Kazan on May 16 - 20. By and large, 450 young people from 40 Russian regions will take part in the event.
The participants will compete for 35 sets of awards. The winners of the competitions will have the right to represent Russia at EuroSkills in France in October, 2014. Besides, participants will compete in three non-competition disciplines that include oil drilling, a pre-school teacher, and backer.
The works of the participants will be evaluated by 392 experts from Russia and abroad.
The competitions, seminars, round tables with representatives of industrial enterprises, businesses, ministries and departments will be held at the Kazan Fair Exhibition Center.
Speaking at the ceremony, Olga Golodets read out the greetings of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and personally welcomed the participants.
"It is a very special championship for us, because it will not only helps solve the economic problems of our country but reveal the potential and personality of each person," she said.
Ildar Khalikov thanked Olga Golodets for coming to the opening of the championship and welcomed the participants and guests of the championship on behalf of Tatarstan President. He wished the participants to be successful in the competitions and have pleasant impressions of their visit to Kazan.
Upon delivering solemn oaths by a representative of the participants and an expert, the championship was declared open.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
