Marat Akhmetov: The sowing campaign is coming to the end in the republic

On May 17, at a regional meeting held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at Tatarstan Government House, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akmetov reported that with 90 per cent having been done, the sowing campaign is coming to the end in Tatarstan.
Marat Akhmetov noted that today works to sow the corn, rape, buckwheat and potatoes remain to be completed.
The Minister paid particular attention to a small amount of rain in the republic, noting the importance to keep the soil moist, while the moisture presents in the top layer of the soil.
As for the feeding stuffs, Marat Akhmetov reported that its average balance in the republic makes about 8 centners per one conditional head, noting the need to provide the farms with the feeding stuff reserve. He continued that today experts recommend sowing the Sudan grass and millet as the feeding stuffs, especially if there is little rain.
Marat Akhmetov said that 140,000 hectares of the corn or 70 per cent of the plan have been sown, adding that some regions are behind the schedule.
According to Marat Ahmetov, special attention should be paid to protection of crops from pests.
We do not know what the weather will be, and we must take all the measures to retain moisture in the soil, Rustam Minnikhanov said, commenting on the situation. He added that those irrigation facilities that were planned to be put into operation must be set, especially for vegetable crops.
Rustam Minnikhanov is sure that today the republic should actively use moisture-saving technologies and change taking into account the current situation.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
