Architectural company NBBJ presented its prototypes of sport objects to Tatarstan Prime Minister planned for construction of Universiade-2013

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting in the RT Cabinet with representatives of Architectural company NBBJ (USA).

Head of RT Government said that the capital of Tatarstan – Kazan is open for offers from architectural companies on design and construction of sport objects for Universiade-2013. According to his words the most serious and significant objects are stadium for 40 000 seats, Palace of water sports, Palace of martial arts and Universiade village.

Specialists of NBBJ company presented to Head of RT government their possibilities and projects which have already been implemented (such as stadium “Viking” in Norway for 20 000 seats, gym centre in Korea for 8 000 seats, sport centre in Los Angeles for 20 000 seats). These objects may be the prototypes for sport buildings which are planned to be constructed in Kazan.

The representatives of NBBJ are sure that new sport objects should meet modern demands of ecology and power efficiency, match historical architecture of the city and activate its spaces. Mainly, they should be used after holding Universiade and generate income.

RT Prime Minister said that using prototypes may help with saving time spent for design. He offered to continue studying the proposals of other world architectural companies in order to choose the most appropriate variants.

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, RT Deputy Minister of construction, architecture and housing – Director General of State unitary enterprise “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Irek Faizullin, RT Minister of youth affairs, sports and tourism Marat Bariev took part in the event.
