Rustam Minnikhanov arrives in Saint-Petersburg on a working visit

In the evening of May 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Saint-Petersburg on a working visit to attend the XVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that will be held on May 22-24, 2014. Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the forum.

This year, the Forum is dedicated to “Sustaining Confidence in a World Undergoing Transformation.” In a world currently experiencing rapid geopolitical, technological, and structural change, this choice of theme is a particularly pertinent one. The programme of the forum includes five main topical areas, such as “Global CEO summit”, “Spurring growth while mitigating risks”, “Realizing Russia’s competitive edge”, “Managing disruptions and embracing change”, “Studies in leadership: defining our future”.

Heads of about 150 large world and 450 leading Russian companies have confirmed their participation in the forum. It is planned that more than 100 official delegations from 62 states will attend the event. According to preliminary data, the forum will gather over 6,500 people, including 1,500 journalists.

It is expected that members of Tatarstan delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov will take part in a session “Uniting Russia: results of technological and cost audit of justification of investments into construction of the first national Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway”, that will be held on the first day of the forum.

Besides, it is planned that Rustam Minnikhanov will meet with representatives of “PricewaterhouseCoopers» (PwC), IBM, «Metro AG" etc. and hold a number of business meetings and talks.

In 2013, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum gathered about 7,200 participants. By and large, 102 agreements totaled to 9.6 trillion rubles were signed within the framework of the event.
