Action on sanitary and ecological cleaning of Tatarstan cities and regions started April 1 and last to June 1.

First Deputy Minister of ecology and natural resources – RT chief state inspector on nature protection Marat Magdeev told about preparation for annual cleaning day and holding sanitary and ecological 2-month campaign on cleaning the territories of Tatarstan municipal regions and cities at a regular briefing in RT Cabinet.

Summing up of cleaning territories will be held at the end of May. Currently the most successful regions in this question are Almetyevsk, Cheremshan, Muslumovo.

The “hot line” is opened at the RT Ministry of ecology and nature resources. One may call and ask questions regarding unauthorized dumps, lettered territories (843) 267-68-86). According to Marat Magdeev the service will respond to all complains quickly.

Marat Magdeev said that the fines for unauthorized rubbish dumps increased (for physical persons – from 1 000 to 2 000 roubles, for official bodies from 2 000 to 5 000 roubles, for businessmen – from 30 000 to 50 000 roubles, for legal persons – to 250 000 roubles). He supposes that such fines may stop many violators.

First Deputy Minister of ecology and natural resources separately highlighted Naberezhnye Chelny where the system of reception of secondary raw materials from citizens was well organized, Almetyevsk and Kazan waste recycling stations. But unfortunately there is not enough good will for recycling of secondary raw materials (glass and polyethylene).

Marat Magdeev also informed that equipment for utilization of medical wastes has been already purchased and the area for its placement specified.
