Rustam Minnikhanov meets with heads of Turkish major industrial enterprises

On May 30, during his working trip to Turkey, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Board Chairman of Çukurova Makina Ali Samsa Karamehmet.
Çukurova Makina (Çukurova Group) produces industrial equipment for engineering, construction, transport and energy sectors. Çukurova Group includes 139 companies, including 19 with foreign investments. Total turnover of the holding makes 4 billion dollars per year.
Founded in 1968, the company produced agricultural and forestry machinery under license of an American corporation John Deere. In 2001, Cumitas plant and German company Liebherr started producing excavators. Currently, 2000 units of machinery are produced at the plant. Since 2010, the company has cooperated with OAO “PO ElAZ” (Tatarstan).
Later the same day, Rustam Minnikhanov visited Koluman plant, and met with Board Chairman of Koluman holding Mustafa Koluman. Founded in 1965, Koluman company is the shareholder of Mercedes-Benz and is one of top 100 Turkish companies. Total turnover of the holding is 582 million Euro.
Rustam Minnikhanov invited Mustafa Koluman to the opening of Turkish companies in Tatarstan, said that he is interested in locating Koluman facilities in the republic, and promised to render support in project implementation.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
