Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in business breakfast during 6th International economic summit of Russia and OIC countries Kazansummit 2014

On June 5, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in business breakfast during the 6th International economic summit of Russia and OIC countries Kazansummit 2014 themed “Create future today: portrait of Russian regions. Integration of economy of Russian regions into global system.”
Welcoming participants of the event, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked them for interest expressed towards Tatarstan. The summit started from discussing issues of Islamic banking. The forum is held in format of international economic summit for the third time.
This year 500 participants from 26 countries and 14 Russian regions registered at the forum. We should build a direct constructive dialogue and know opinions of foreign businessmen about real economic situation, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President briefly told about economic situation in the republic and further development plans. In particular, 6 per cent of Russian oil, 50 per cent of Russian polyethylene and synthetic rubbers, and 30 per cent of tyres are produced in Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov also told about SEZ “Alabuga”, the centre of innovative development in Tatarstan, infrastructure created in the republic for supporting business, including 5 industrial parks, 8 business incubators, and 9 technoparks.
Among main investment projects Rustam Minnikhanov mentioned Innopolis and Smart City Kazan.
“Major work is carried out on attracting highly skilled specialists, resource centres of professional education are being established in cooperation with leading enterprises,” the President added.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that in 2013, the amount of direct foreign investments exceeded 400 million US dollars.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
