Rustam Minnikhanov meets with UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori

On June 5, during the 6th International economic summit of Russia and OIC countries Kazansummit 2014, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori discussed further mutually beneficial cooperation.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the guests saying that members of UAE delegation are dinstinguished guests of the summit, and thanked UAE representatives for taking part in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that UAE is one of the most attractive economic partners of Tatarstan, and cooperation with OIC countries is an important task for the region. Tatarstan President briefly told about economic situation in the republic, noting that Tatarstan is in top 5five Russian regions by main social and economic indicators. He focused on oil production and oil processing industries mentioning that 15 million tonnes of oil are refined at regional plants.
Tatarstan President told about key petrochemical enterprises, Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Kazanorgsintez, and OAO KAMAZ, the biggest producer of lorries.
Director General of OAO SEZ Albuga Timur Shagivaleev presented the special economic zone.
Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, in his turn, told about SEZ Innopolis.
UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori said that Tatarstan is a highly developed Russian region, and said that relations between Tatarstan and UAE are friendly. He also added that UAE is ready to share their experience in many spheres, including tourism.
“I will present a very detailed report about my visit to Tatarstan to our leadership. We can cooperate in education, health care, and other spheres, and organize visits of our delegations,” Sultan Al Mansoori summarized.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
