Maintaining the unique national traditions the "plough's feast" embodies the best qualities of Tatar people, such as diligence and will to win, neighbourliness and hospitality, love for native language and culture.
This day is marked by completion of spring field works, and we pay honour to our mother earth and tireless agricultural workers, knowing that the future harvest depends on their work. We glorify brave batyrs, and are amazed by courage of winners of horse races, enjoy listening to national songs and watching dances, pay tribute to outstanding culture and art figures.
Accessibility and openness of the holiday and its folk nature is an essential part and biggest achievement of common spiritual culture of Tatarstan citizens. I am sure that in the year of culture when Kazan is announced the cultural capital of Turkic world, this holiday will become a more striking event among other celebrations.
