Tatarstan delegation took part in the session of Turkmenistan government

Tatarstan delegation headed by RT Prime Minister visited Turkmenistan on 25-26 of April. It was presented by Director General of JSC “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin, Director General of JSC “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov, Director General of JSC “Tatenergo” Ilshat Fardiev and others.

On arrival in Turkmenistan capital Ashkhabad Tatarstan delegation took part in the session of Turkmenistan government. In the course of session the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov signed a resolution on purchasing of 400 heavyweights “KAMAZ 65115” and spares for them in amount of 22 mln. dollars.

Director General of JSC “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin, Director General of JSC “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov and the representatives of energy sphere came forward with proposals for cooperation. As Aide to Prime Minister on foreign economic activity Iskander Mouflikhanov informed partners from Tatarstan expressed interest in cooperation in the sphere of electric-power industry (electric power engineering) – delivery of special equipment.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov said that international auto rally “Silk road” which starts on 5, September, 2009 in Kazan and finishes on 13, September in Ashkhabad would become a symbol uniting the peoples of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.

By the words of Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov Turkmenistan is ready for cooperation with Tatarstan in ship and motor building industries, agriculture, enlargement of cultural and scientific exchange.

Rustam Minnikhanov conveyed kind words and wishes for prosperity for Turkmenistan leadership on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev. He also stressed that currently relations between two republics are developing dynamically and constructively.

By the results of 2008 foreign trade turnover of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan increased 3,7 times (in comparison with 2007) and made 124 mln. dollars.

Tatarstan is greatly interested in resuming deliveries of machinery made at the JSC “Kazan helicopter plant” to Turkmenistan.

After finishing the meeting the members of Tatarstan delegation met with representatives of Turkmenistan Cabinet.
