Tatarstan President meets with Deputy Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council

On June 19, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Deputy Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council Reza Saifullahi, who arrived in Kazan to take part in the V International meeting of high-ranking officials responsible for security matters. Tatarstan Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Aide to Tatarstan President on International Affairs Radik Gimatdinov took part in the meeting.
Welcoming Deputy Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, Tatarstan President noted that the regional leadership appreciates the cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tatarstan within the framework of Russia-Iran relations. Consulate General of Iran in Kazan plays a great role in the development of relations, he said.
"Unfortunately, the turnover between our republics is very small. We need to intensify economic cooperation. We are interested in supplying our products to Iran, and at the same time the Iranian products can be in demand on Tatarstan market."
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan and Iran have developed contacts in the sphere of education and culture. Iranian officials regularly participate in forums held in Tatarstan, the filmmakers of the Islamic Republic become laureates and winners of the International Muslim Film Festival in Kazan.
“Our economies are similar, including oil production, oil refining, engineering. Therefore, we could find areas for cooperation. During our visit to Iran, we saw how active you develop the sphere innovations. We are also actively working in this area, and I think this could be the area of our cooperation. "
Reza Saifullahi, in his turn, confirmed that Russia-Iran relations are of constructive nature and cover many spheres. According to him, such international meetings on security matters also contribute to the strengthening of relations between two countries.
Reza Saifullahi promised Rustam Minnikhanov to personally support the development of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tatarstan.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
