Rustam Minnikhanov: We want French companies to choose Tatarstan as a launching platform for entering Russian market

On June 24, at a business forum in Lyon (France), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan enterprises are interested in developing cooperation with French companies, and want to learn more about Rhône-Alpes region. The meeting with Rhône-Alpes businessmen was held at Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Vice-president of Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Philippe Ero, representatives of the Association of French enterprises, Rhône-Alpes general confederation of small and medium-sized enterprises, and Lyon Mayor’s Office took part in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked participants of the forum for the interest towards Tatarstan and its economic and investment potential, and noted that experience of Grenoble and Lyon innovative clusters is interesting for Tatarstan.
The republic cooperates with a number of French regions, and a representative office of Tatarstan has worked in Paris for 20 years, the honorary consul of France and French visa centre work in Kazan.
Tatarstan President continued that Tatarstan has experience of cooperation with French companies, such as Schneider Electric, Air Liquide, Saint-Gobain, Auchan, Decathlon, Leroy Merlin, Danone. Major work is being done by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia.

Rustam Minnikhanov briefly told about Tatarstan economy and priority projects implemented in the republic.
Summing up, Tatarstan President said: “The purpose of our trip is to expand trade-economic, scientific-technical and educational cooperation with Rhône-Alpes and other French regions.”

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
