Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in opening of international conference Innovativecity 2014 in Nice

On June 25, at the opening of international conference Innovativecity 2014 in Nice, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that environmental conservation, historical sights and cultural heritage, and the use of high technologies are very important and interesting for Tatarstan as one of economically developed regions in Russia.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Nice leaders for the invitation to take part in the event and said that knowledge gained and contacts established during the conference would help developing innovative projects implemented in Tatarstan.
Tatarstan President continued that cooperation between countries help developing interregional interaction that is very important nowadays.
Tatarstan holds the 5th place among Russian regions by economic criteria, many federal programmes are realized in the republic, he added. “The World Summer Universiade in Kazan aroused interest of the global community. The created infrastructure enabled us getting to a new high quality level. We will host matches of the World Football Cup 2018. We are also planning to take part in construction of high-speed railway “Moscow-Kazan” and other projects. All these things are good drivers for the region’s economic growth,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President also noted that priority areas in Tatarstan are environmental conservation, ecology, preservation of historical and cultural heritage, creation of modern ecosystems.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded participants of the event that the ancient town of Bolgar was included in UNESCO World Heritage List, and the island town of Sviyazhsk was reconstructed.
“Tatarstan is striving for being the leader of country’s innovative development. Modern infrastructure for doing business, including industrial sites, business incubators, and technology parks, was created in the republic. Much emphasis is put on two major projects, - Innopolis and Smart City Kazan,” the President stressed. He noted that French companies were interested in these projects.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov said that today Nice is a modern city that meets needs of its dwellers and guests. He wished participants of the forum efficient work.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
