On July 4, after the oil summit in Bugulma region, Tatarstan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Kirill Molodtsov told journalists that TANECO refinery (Nizhnekamsk) production capacities can be increased twice.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, initially 14 million tonnes of oil were meant to be refined at the plant, however, certain technological solutions were required. He noted that this year 9 million tonnes of oil will be refined at the plant. Tatarstan President thanked Russian Ministry of Energy and Transneft company for support.
Kirill Molodtsov, in his turn, noted that TANECO was included in Russian Energy Strategy considering that its economic efficiency will be achieved with capacities of 14 million tonnes.
TANECO Board Chairman Nail Maganov said that the increase of primary processing capacity to 8 million tonnes was a solid achievement for Tatneft (Tatarstan oil company). More than 4 million tonnes of oil were refined in the first quarter of 2014. The refining efficiency made 74.5 per cent.
In 2014, the amount of refined oil is expected to make 8.5 million tonnes, in 2015 – 9 million tonnes. Moreover, high-viscosity index oil for making commercial oil for cars and industrial equipment are to be produced.
Construction of advanced oil refining plant and delayed coking unit will be another stage of TANECO development.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.

On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference , the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that 170 educational facilities will have capital overhaul by federal and regional programmes, having added that the bulk of the projects are planned to begin at the start of the summer holidays.
