Tatarstan President takes part in session of Russian Presidential Council on economic modernization and innovative development

On July 9, a session of Russian Presidential Council on economic modernization and innovative development held by Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev took place in Ekaterinburg (Ural optical mechanics plant named after E.S.Yalamov).
Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Arkady Dvorkovich, Russian Presidential Envoy in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Russian Minister Mikhail Abyzov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, representatives of executive authorities, field-specific enterprises, research institutions, and heads of regions took part in the event.
The session was dedicated to photonics development. Photonics includes scientific and technology sectors such as laser, optical and optoelectronic technologies, in which photon flux is used for energy and information transmission. Currently there are 850 organizations in Russia working in this sphere. Main enterprises are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow region, Novosibirsk and Volga region. Total number of people working in the industry is 55, 000.
In 2011, the Governmental commission for high technologies and innovations approved organization of technology platform “Laser, optical and optoelectronic technologies - photonics” based in four territorial clusters (“Phystech XXI” in Dolgoprudny, Zelenograd, Saratov innovation cluster, and Troitsky cluster). Two engineering laser technology centres were founded in 2013 in Ural Federal University and Vladimir State University.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
