Tatarstan President and Uruguayan partners discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of dairy industry

On July 14, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with representatives of the leading Latin-American companies, operating in the dairy industry, in Montevideo (Uruguay).

Margot Navarro, representing Indulacsa Company, noted that one of the main sectors of the economy of Uruguay is highly profitable agriculture and industry focused on the processing of agricultural raw materials. The application of the advanced technologies and high quality standards allow Latin-American companies, such as Indulacsa, to significantly improve the competitiveness of the agro-industrial complex of Uruguay on the world market.

Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, noted the importance of the human factor in the development of agro-industrial complex, which is prone to climatic and bioecological risks. Tatarstan President asked representatives of the Uruguayan agribusiness and the Indulacsa company in particular to actively cooperate with Tatarstan agricultural organizations to exchange experience and find possibilities to work together.

Chief Executive of Conaprole Gaston Pessetto also noted the importance of sharing technological solutions and exploring possible instruments for cooperation between the regions and said that Conaprole, being the second largest supplier of butter in Russia, appreciates the potential of the Russian market.

Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan as one of the leading industrial and agricultural regions of Russia has always paid special attention to the agricultural industry. Along with the development of large agricultural enterprises, the republic also focuses on the development of farms and private farmsteads. Today, the regional agricultural complex supplies agricultural products not only to Tatarstan, but also to other Russian regions and abroad.

Tatarstan is open for cooperation with Latin American agricultural companies, Rustam Minnikhanov said. The mutual interest of Tatarstan and Uruguay will allow finding acceptable forms of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture, he concluded.
