25 July 2014, Friday

On July 25, at his meeting with participants of the international educational forum “Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy” being held in Kazan, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Igor Shuvalov said that Russia should keep on actively exporting raw materials and energy resources while they are in demand in the world market.

Igor Shuvalov also noted that the expenditure budget cannot be set based only on proceeds from sales of raw materials. Answering the question regarding his assessment of the long-term gas contract with China signed on May 21 during the visit of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to People’s Republic of China, Igor Shuvalov said that the world gas map is quickly changing and nobody knows what the gas market will be in 50 years. Therefore, according to him, the long-term agreement on gas supplies to China is an exceptional success.

After the meeting, Igor Shuvalov, Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Vladimir Mau and Tatartstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who also took part in the meeting, answered questions from journalists.
