Russian-German agreement on cooperation in medical industry signed at III Walter Scheel Forum in Kazan

On August 8, III Walter Scheel Forum dedicated to problems of medical industry, practical health care and medical science opened at the Educational centre of high medical technologies (Regional Clinical Hospital). One of the results of the forum was that Tatarstan Minister of Health Adel Vafin, President of Koch - Metschnikow – Forum Helmut Hahn, CEO of Health Region Freiburg and CEIWalter Scheel Forum Christoph Hoppel signed a Protocol of intentions on cooperation.
Speaking at the forum, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said it was a great privilege for Tatarstan to host the III Walter Scheel Forum.
“I was glad to know that the speech of Tatarstan officials aroused people’s interest, therefore, we decided to hold the forum in Tatarstan. Russian Ministry of Health, and personally the Minister Veronika Skvortsova rendered support. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov supported the idea. We are glad that the forum will favour development of relationships between Tatarstan and Germany in one of the most priority spheres – health care,” Ildar Khalikov said.
Speaking about key areas of health care development, Tatarstan Minister of Health Adel Vafin pointed out mortality rate decrease and increase of longevity. “Therefore, experience of Germany in this sphere is very important for us,” the minister said and thanked honoured guests for supporting the forum.
Professor Helmut Hahn expressed special gratitude to Tatarstan Government, Tatarstan and Russian Ministries of Health, medical specialists for support.
CEO of Health Region Freiburg Tilo Jakob, in his turn, said: “The signed agreement will be approved by our board. Afterwards, all medical organisations within our association will take it into consideration and develop honest relations with Tatarstan.”
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
