Rustam Minnikhanov visits Armstrong plant under construction at Alabuga Special Economic Zone

On August 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the construction site of the Armstrong American Factory for the production of ceiling panels in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
The Armstrong Company started construction of its factory in Tatarstan in April 2013. The total investment volume into the project will reach 100 million US dollars by the beginning of 2015. The factory will produce mineral wool ceiling tiles, 60×60 and 60×120 cm in size.
The commissioning of the equipment is now underway. Rustam Minnikhanov was demonstrated machines in operation as well as first product samples.
Representatives of the company thanked the regional leadership and executives of SEZ “Alabuga” for their assistance in dealing with all of the current issues.
Answering the question asked by Rustam Minnikhanov about the staffing issues, representatives of the company said that the first group of specialists is undergoing training in England.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
