Rustam Minnikhanov visits Paper and Paperboard Mill in Naberezhnye Chelny

On September 1, during his working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade and Mayor of the city Vasil Shaikhraziev visited an upgraded line for production of cardboard at the Naberezhnye Chelny Paper and Paperboard Mill named after Sergey Titov.

The modernization of the forming and pressing section of the board machine cost the Paper Mill 1.5 billion roubles and has become the largest investment project in the history of the mill. As a result, the machine capacity increased from 470 to 600 meters per minute. With paper and board production output going up by 20 per cent, from 157,000 to 190,000 tonnes per year, the expected increase in revenues will make 1 billion roubles (16 per cent).

General Director of the Paper Mill Vladimir Bestolkov showed Tatarstan President around and demonstrated him the upgraded line for the board production.

Rustam Minnikhanov laid flowers at the bust of the company’s first director Sergey Titov and talked to the workers.

Tatarstan President said that he was impressed by what he saw at the enterprise. "Today we have seen the fruits of modernization, and I can say that Sergei Pavlovich Titov laid an excellent foundation. I am glad that your business is developing. You can be an example for other industries," Minnikhanov said.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the employees of the Paper Mill for their contribution to the development of the republic and wished them further success.

Later on the same day, Rustam Minnikhanov visited the KAMAZ football club training ground and KAMAZ stadium. Looking around sports infrastructure, Rustam Minnikhanov offered to reequip the stadium into a football ground by moving the stands closer to the field.

Rustam Minnikhanov also held a meeting on the development of the KAMAZ football club and football in general in Naberezhnye Chelny.
