18 per cent of grain crops remains to be harvested in Tatarstan

On September 5, at a regional videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov reported that as of today 1.27 million hectares or 82 per cent of the grain crop area have been harvested in Tatarstan, with an average yield of 22.3 centners per hectare.
Marat Akhmetov said that a relatively favorable weather is expected during next five-six days, noting the need to harvest 20,000-30,000 hectares a day. As many as 280,000 hectares of grain crops remain to be harvested.
He went on to report that Apastovo, Nurlat and Alkeevsk regions completed harvesting, while Buinsk and Kaybitsy regions are close to finish it.
Commenting on the report of the Minister of Agriculture, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the harvesting campaign should be completed despite bad weather conditions.
