The Republic of Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk region agree on cooperation

On September 11, during the working visit of Tatarstan delegation led by Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov to Chelyabinsk, the Protocol of measures on performance of the Agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural cooperation was signed between the Republic of Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk region for 2014-2017.
The document was signed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Chairman of Government of Chelyabinsk region Sergey Komyakov.
Opening the meeting, Sergey Komyakov said that business and economic relations should be enhanced.
“For the last few years trade turnover between our regions has increased eight times. We have adopted your best practices, and we would like to visit Tatarstan and Kazan,” Komyakov said.
Ildar Khalikov, in his turn, said that Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk have many areas of potential cooperation, such as agriculture, industry, and processing. “At the same time, we need to take joint efforts to create favourable conditions for businesses and enhance industrial cooperation,” the Prime Minister noted.
The parties agreed on developing close and favourable relations between the regions.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov, representative of Tatarstan in Sverdlovsk region Rinat Sadriev, Aide to Tatarstan Prime Minister on foreign economic activity Nazil Nasibulin took part in the signing ceremony.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
