Tatarstan President comments on the election results

On September 15, in his interview to local journalists, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov commented on the preliminary results of the election of deputies of Tatarstan State Council of the fifth convocation.
Tatarstan President said that the election of local council deputies was successful, with more than 80 per cent of the electorate voted. “According to the preliminary results, the United Russia Party received 84.3 per cent of the votes, the Communist Party – 5.5 per cent, and other parties shared just a few percents,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
As for single-mandate election districts, 36 United Russia Party candidates, 13 self-nominated candidates and one Liberal Party candidate won seats in the State Council.
“I would like to thank our citizens for their taking an active part in the election. I think it is a high level of confidence people have in the State Council of the fifth convocation that is to get down to work in the coming days,” Tatarstan President said.
"I also want to say that as compared to 2009 the number of parties that competed for seats in the parliament has increased twice, the competition in single-mandate election districts was very serious as well. All the parties have been procative, but the United Russia is the core staff of power, the most active members of our republic represented by very respected and successful people. The United Russia Party held an intensive campaign, showing the results of the work done and presenting a clear programme for the next 5 years,” Rustam Minnikhanov stressed.
“All the candidates, however, noted the economic growth in the republic, infrastructure development, gave their proposals and comments. And all the comments, pre-election promises given by the United Russia Party will form the basis of the programme plan for the development of our republic. We have to and will fulfill all our promises in full,” Tatarstan President declared.
"The President, the parliament, the government, municipalities and businesses are the backbone, which is aimed at the development and prosperity of our republic, and therefore the development and prosperity of our great country, the Russian Federation. We will actively work and make every effort for the development of our republic," Rustam Minnikhanov continued.
"We thank the federal center and the Russian President personally for supporting all our projects. The main task the authorities face is to improve the quality of life of our citizens, ensure stability and harmony in our republic. All these issues will be our priorities," Minnikhanov said.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
