Tatarstan President meets Head of Kuibyshev railways

On September 24, at their meeting at Special Economic Zone "Alabuga' on the eve of the opening of “Kastamonu Entegre” plant, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Head of Kuibyshev railways, the branch of OAO “Russian railways”, Sergey Solozhenkin discusssed issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kuibyshev railways. Speaking at the meeting, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan and Kuibyshev railways have established good business relationships.
Issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kuibyshev railways, development of railway transport infrastructure in Tatarstan were discussed at the meeting.
According to Minnikhanov, Kuibyshev railways have been transported 9.8 million tonnes of goods for eight months in Tatarstan (4.6 per cent more than last year). The freight turnover will be increasing due to increase in production at TANECO refinery and implementation of new large-scale industrial projects in Kama industrial cluster.
Rustam Minnikhanov told Sergey Solozhenkin about plans on creating new production facilities.
Thus, “Kastamonu Entegre” plant will require 700, 000 tonnes of raw materials every year that will be partly supplied from outside the republic. Also, glass and household chemicals production plants will be built.
“Besides rendering transportation services, “Russian railways” is a large consumer of our industrial produce. This year the company bought products for 1.2 million roubles,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
