1.3 thousand people from Tatarstan to pass contract military service in 2014

On October 3, Acting Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a session of Tatarstan conscription commission at Tatarstan Government House. According to the information given at the session, 1.3 thousand people from Tatarstan will pass contract service in 2014.
The conscription campaign started on October 1 and will last till December 31. According to Russian President’s assignment, the number of soldiers, sailors, sergeants and sergeant majors passing military service in Russian Armed Forces should make 499, 000 people.
Tatarstan Military Commissar – Deputy Chairman of Conscription Commission Sergey Pogodin, who took part in the session, said that by results of 9 months, the work on selection of candidates was well organized in Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky regions. Naberezhnye Chelny, Elabuga, Kukmor, Muslyumovo, Nurlat, Sarmanovo, and Tukai regions are not working efficiently enough.
According to Sergey Pogodin, conversations about advantages of military service in Russian Armed Forces were held with potential candidates were held in August-September. As a result, 17, 000 Tatarstan citizens visited mobile agitation stations, 550 people expressed their interest in passing military service, and 87 people submitted applications for passing contract military service.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
