Tatarstan President congratulates Muslims on Eid al-Adha

3 October 2014, Friday
On October 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Muslims of the republic on Eid al-Adha holiday.

“Dear Muslims of Tatarstan! Dear compatriots! I congratulate you on the Blessed holiday of Eid al-Adha! These holy days that mark the end of the annual Hajj to Mecca, the heart of every Muslim is filled with joy and gratitude to Allah for his endless mercy.

By making redemptive sacrifice we are cleansing our souls with sincere confession, strengthening our belief in good and mercy. By giving treats to needy people, being involved in charity, each of us follows the way of saints.

We are doing a lot to preserve and develop traditional religions in our republic. Living peacefully together for centuries, representatives of different nationalities and religions create wellbeing of our native Tatarstan, take part in life of the republic and counteract threats.

More than one thousand Tatarstan citizens are performing Hajj these days. They are turning to Allah and ask him for help in their work, strength of spirit, peace and family wellbeing.

Let Allah take their prayers and all pilgrims will safely come back home, to their relatives, full of optimism and spiritual power.

Dear friends, let Allah help you in all your deeds. Let Eid al-Adha bring peace and wellbeing, warmth and joy to every house.

Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov.”
