On October 6, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met delegation of the Cisco Company. Global head of strategy and business development for industrial solutions of Cisco Matthew Smith, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and other officials took part in the meeting.
Tatarstan President welcomed members of the delegation and thanked the Cisco Company for fruitful cooperation with Tatarstan. "We are pleased that you consider Tatarstan as a pilot region for your projects in Russia," Minnikhanov said.
According to him, Cisco has been actively involved in the development of information system of the republic and the opening of the Innovation Center at the Kazan Federal University to be held tomorrow will become the next important step in this area.
"The potential of the republic is huge, we are doing a lot in the sphere of innovations and willing to consider any of your new proposals," Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Cisco executives. “You are our strategic partner, and I hope that we will continue cooperating with you," Tatarstan President added.
Matthew Smith, in his turn, told about plans to introduce “smart city” technologies in Kazan.
Also, members of the delegation noted prospects of the Innopolis IT-city for Cisco and confirmed their readiness to cooperate with Tatarstan in this area.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
